New Year, New You

New Year, New YouHappy 2021 everyone! I am so happy to be back doing my first blog post for this year. It has been a while since I posted here on the blog and one of the things I want to accomplish this year is to be consistent.

2020 was very unprecedented but we all learned a lot from it and I know it all made us stronger. I always think what doesn’t kill you make you stronger. New Year, New You is the way for me to start challenging myself again. I am here to continue to inspire women like me and we can be better. I have been getting a lot of compliments saying I am doing well and also question on how I manage to do it all like having 3 kids, full time PT job, a blog and a small business making custom shirts visit our shop here. As I always say, I have been blessed to have my mom here with us to help us with the kids and also my husband who is my partner with our business and my photographer for my blog. Even with all those things, I am still not were I really wanted to be.

I have made a lot of goals last year and I was able to get some done but due to inconsistency I wasn’t really able to achieve what I really wanted. I want my blog to turn around for good and for our small business to continue to pick up in the hopes of making it our full time family business. Our workout has been somewhat almost consistent this year as we were able to really able to utilize our home gym and do a lot of exercises as a family.

So this year, My mantra is “If it is to be, It’s up to me.” I am holding myself accountable, it can only happen if the change starts with me. I cannot get a different result doing same things. This week, since I took a week off from work. I started a diet (following a recipe book from the same workout plan I use and also note eating junk food) before the New Year and stick with it. I was able to accomplish my goal in 3 days. So If I continue to do this consistently and continue to be disciplined, I know I will be able to reach my goal. I started back working out 6 weeks after I gave birth to Andi and check out my fitness journey here.

So this is for us ladies who wants to challenge themselves this year a be a better version of ourselves. I know I really need to work on this as this year I will be 40. I am not getting any younger and really have to take care of myself and to be serious with me being my own boss.

Thank you for reading and stopping by to see what Simplychristianne is up this year. I assure you that I will continue to make good content for all of you for more affordable fashion but will continue to mix some high end ones. Let me know what topics you would like for me to talk about here. Thank you for sticking with me.

Wishing you all and Happy, Blessed and Healthy New Year!

Date Worthy Spot in the DMV

SHOP THE LOOK:

FAUX FUR COLLAR COAT SIMILAR HERE/ ANKLE BOOTIES/ LOUIS VUITTON BAG

If you are looking for a Date worthy spot in the DMV, then this place is for you. It is called Osteria Marzana located at Alexandria, VA. I just so happen to see their Ad on my facebook feed and fell in live with the igloos. So I went ahead and reserved a spot for me and hubby.

To reserve go to their site and reserve online or call them. Outdoor seating gets booked quick so book in advance. Also I just wanna let you know. When we checked our receipt, there was a 4% fee for PPE for their igloos and how they sanitize it. There was a note that you can talk to the manager I guess if you have questions with it. I understand that they are doing extra time to sanitize and make sure you are safe while dining with them and igloos are perfect for social distancing with others. So we did not mind paying that extra 4%, that is also our support for small businesses.

Another good point dining here was the igloos are perfect. It was warm enough for us and also as you can see I dressed up appropriately with my faux fur colar coat. I matched it with the venue. If you want a perfect date spot this is for you. Also I have seen families and friends here so it is not exclusive for dating. You can all dine in here.

And now let me go through the food and price.

So For our drinks Novel my husband just got a beer, I got me a Berrt Sangria, it was good and good amount of serving. They served us their free bread, the bread was ok but the olive oil to dip it with was so fresh, It was so good!

For the appetizer as you can see there we got the Buratta and it was so authentic. We felt like we were in Italy again. The prosciutto was perfect and the mozarea and balsamic vinegar too.

For the main course hubby got the Tagliolini and I got the Fettucini Bolognese, they were both ok not as good as the appetizer and lastly we got a to go food which was the nutella pizza for the kids and they loved it.

So If you wanna experience something different. Check them out, you will love it As we loved it too. Romatic place for us as we called it.

Stay safe and healthy all!

Family Field Trip: Ellicott City, Maryland

SHOP THE POST:

ON ME: CARDIGAN/ BAG/ SUNGLASSES/ SHOES/ TANK TOP

ON ANDI: LONG SLEEVE SHIRT/ SHOES

Today’s feature post on our Family Field Trip: Ellicott City, Maryland. This is an hour away from southern Maryland were we live. Hubby and I decided to try to explore neighboring towns since we are not near travelling by plane anywhere due to the pandemic. This way, we keep sane and able to enjoy the outdoors while we still can. Since the experts says outdoor is still the safest, wearing a mask and washing or sanitizing hands.

Family Field Trip: Ellicott City, Maryland

Last weekend, we decided to visit Howard County and it is few minutes away from Baltimore City. We started by checking out their Centennial park. It was a lovely weather close to the 80’s and a lot of people in the park but since it was a huge park. Physical distancing were practiced and we all get to enjoy the nice weather. They have a lake so if own a kayak or boat you can ride it there. They have a huge field to play a lot of things with your family and friends. Basket ball, volleyball, tennis, Pavilions a bike and a walking trail.

After we explored their park, we drove a few minutes to check out the Historic Ellicott, City. It was a nice little City with small shops, restaurants, street performers and they have nice murals. We enjoyed looking into the Main Street, we got some cute items from one shop there, we ate at a Japanese restaurant, they offer outdoor Patio dining. There was a distillery were you get to see what they have, a lot of cute instagrammable spaces.

This has now become are family bonding every week. Last week we went to check out Thurmont, Maryland and took a picture at their famous Loys Station covered bridge. Trying to stay outdoors while we still can.

How I practice Self-Care

How I practice Self-Care

SHOP MY OUTFIT:

PLAID COAT  SIMILAR HERE/ LEGGINGS/ COMBAT BOOTS

Hello all! I wanna share How I practice Self-care as it is very importance specially these days with this pandemic making it more stressful for all. We all can be very busy in life and we tend to forget to care for ourselves. I am a mother of 3 who works as a Full time Physical therapist, who is also blogging on the side and taking care of our small business custom shirts…

1. I always pray specially in the morning when I wake up.

2. I always allot 30-45 mins for myself at least 3-5x a day and that is to do my exercise. I usually workout with my daughter and my husband.

3. I always listen to relaxing music specially when I drive to and from work.

4. I always mostly try to eat healthy food and I try to drink as much water I can in a day.

5. Playing with the kids like board games and literally anything.

6. Hiking… this is really good for the soul either you are alone, with family or with friends.

7. A walk in the park.

How do I do it, I know I can’t do it all without the support of my husband and my mom who stays here with us and being able to watch the kids for during the day.

What if you do not have that kind of help. If you are single this should not really be an issue I guess because you do not need to worry about the kids. If you are a mom like me who does not have that kind of help. Try to do this the things that you can do by yourself when your kids are sleep. I tell you, that 30 mins is so worth it!

Take care of yourself because there is only one unique you! Happy Monday and have a blessed week ahead!

Christianne

Halloween Celebration Ideas During Pandemic

Halloween Celebration Ideas During Pandemic

SHOP THE LOOK: ZEBRA HEADBAND/ BOO CREW T-SHIRT/ SUGAR COOKIES

Yay! I am back! Life can be very busy with 3 kids, working as a full time physical therapist and running a small business on the side. Huge thanks to my mom who is hear to help us watching the kids during the day when we are at work.

Now let’s go talk about Halloween celebration during Pandemic. I am here to share some fun and safe ideas for y’all to do this weekend. As a mom of three kids, I have been thinking how am I going to entertain the kids this Halloween, they are used to dress up and we use to take them to Alexandria to go trick or treating. It is totally different now with the current situation in this unprecedented time.

Here are some of the ideas I thought of doing this weekend at the backyard. I was thinking of inviting a few friends over since we are doing this in the backyard. Of course we are making sure we are making sure we wear mask, social distance and washing and sanitizing our hands.

Here are the Must haves for this Halloween Celebration. BOO SWEATSHIRT/ SCAVENGER HUNT/ SUGAR COOKIES/ PUMKIN CARVING KIT/ OUTDOOR PROJECTOR

  1. Halloween Family Shirts. I have made some custom Halloween shirts for the family so not the typical Halloween costume for the kids. You can order it here on my Etsy store. This is already a start to get the Halloween vibe.
  2. Halloween Sugar Cookies. I have bought these cute sweet Halloween cookies from Target because I know the kids will surely love this and will probably add some pizza and chicken wings or even s’mores since we are doing this at the backyard patio.
  3. Halloween Scavenger hunt. I have printed some list of things for the kids to hunt around the backyard and each of them will get some cute prize.
  4. Pumpkin carving. I have some pumpkin carving kits and little pumpkins for us to work on to get their creativity and get them busy. We have to do this as a family due to the tools we have to use. Kids have to be supervised.
  5. Outdoor Halloween Movie Night. Lastly, when it gets dark this is how we will end the day. We have list of Halloween movies we can watch as a family that are kids friendly. some examples are Casper or Hocus Pocus and maybe Ghost Busters.

You can choose from these ideas that are outlined here what will work best for you. Have a Happy safe Halloween!

Family Activities at the Backyard

Family Activities at the Backyard

SHOP THE LOOK:

MY PINK SWIMSUIT/ ANDI’S BABY SWIMSUIT/ AIDAN’S SWIM SHORTS/ FAMILY INFLATABLE POOL

SWIMMING in an inflatable pool is our new jam, we actually inspired our neighbors to get theirs too. Since it is safer doing everything a home, might as well improvised right? Make use of your backyard if you have one.

SHOP THE POST:

VIDEO PROJECTOR

This is also a winner getting us a video projector. As a family we love movie nights and we just took it to another level making it as an outdoor experience. I got this projector that already includes the screen so I won’t have to pay extra for this and it is under $200. Good quality picture and we just use our blue tooth speaker for it and our cellphone so we can watch Diney plus, netflix or prime. It also comes with usb, HDMI connector. We all enjoyed this one with cool drinks, popcorna and a table fire pit in the middle.

PICNIC BASKET

Picnic has never been good and also was able to do sun bathing in out backyard, I must say we have done a lot of first even though we have been living here in our house for a while. This pandemic has thought us a lot of our own creativity and make us of what we have.

outdoor dining is the best, we thought of having a Korean food and this is what we came up.

Check out other activities here.

Quarantine Series: Beauty Haul

Quarantine Series: Beauty Haul

SHOP THE LOOK:

MADEWELL SWEATER

H&M SHORTS (OLD) SIMILAR HERE

SAM EDELMAN SANDALS

Quarantine Series: Beauty Haul for Self Care. What beauty items favorite I got this stay at home moment and why they are a must have.

SHOP THE POST BY CLICKING ON THE IMAGES BELOW:

There are a lot of things we realize during this quarantine period. Like self care, the most important thing that we usually does not invest much time. We have to nourish ourselves, give it rest and beautify it also. One of the things that is a game changer for me here is the Clarins extra firming cream. I apply it on my neck as I have loose skin there. In just few usage it is already showing progress.

I always use different beauty products from drug store items to high end beauty products. I always mix them up especially if they really gives good impact on me. The eyeliner here is so good and ever since I used it I stick with it. The blush and the lipstick is a good combination for me right now. I am into pink this Spring and it feels and looks so refreshing to me.

I just enjoyed the time when I was on isolation and I was so bored so I just got my make up set, nail set and hair care essentials and worked with it. How about you aside for beautifying your home, homeschooling your kids, Spring cleaning and working on storage at home. What else have you invested your time during these times?

Let me know your thoughts and any topics you would want me to cover here. I would be willing to share them all to you and also follow me on my instagram to see the IGTV I created on how I put up this look in less than 10 mins.

Thank you for stopping by and stay safe and healthy!
