Trend Alert: Coated Denim Jeans

What Are Coated Jeans?

It is your basic denim jeans that are coated with pigment to give them a wax-like finish. As you can see on the jeans I was wearing here, it looks like a faux leather material. But I must say it is more breathable and is perfect for Fall weather. The wax-like finish gives it shine and looks so elegant and expensive. It will definitely level up your denim jeans game. This outfit I put together here looks more like a Business casual pairing it with this super soft turtleneck sweater and the classic animal print shoes, you can never go wrong with it.

If you want a more casual look for like date nights a romantic blouse will do the work and ankle boots, but for running errands, you can pair it with sneakers and a regular sweater on top or a hoodie if you want. See more tips for how to style coated jeans below!

How To Style Coated Jeans

Add some texture.

Coated pants have a slightly shiny texture that looks amazing when paired other textures. Especially leather, wool, cashmere, and overall anything furry or cozy. This is one of the main reasons why coated pants are so great for the Fall and Winter seasons. When it comes to creating coated jeans outfit ideas, you can never go wrong with more texture.

Go for an oversized sweater.

For a casual, yet still chic and thoughtful look, wear coated jeans with an oversized sweater. Whether your coated jeans are high rise skinny, straight or flare, you can feel confident in this balanced and comfy look. Again, it’s all in the textures. Add a statement necklace and boots to dress this look up or some sneakers to keep it casual.

Tuck in a blouse or collard shirt.

This is an especially good styling tip for high-waisted coated jeans. Grab a nice blouse, turtleneck, bodysuit, or collard shirt and tuck into your pants. Then, add a matching belt and handbag and you’re ready to take on the day. Black coated jeans, especially black coated skinny jeans, look amazing with a sheer white button-down and a black leather jacket.

Tuck in a graphic tee.

If you enjoy a look with more edge from time to time, consider tucking in a graphic tee. Pair with a cute shajacket, a handbag for a pop of color, and your favorite tennis shoes or sneakers for a casual outfit. Perfect for everything from running errands to brunch with the girls.

Dress them up.

With this type of denim you can dress up and dress down, you can also pair it with a blazer, fitted long-sleeve shirts, or a pretty blouse and can be worn with different types of shoes. You can also get these jeans in so many different colors and here are some of my favorites. They are at different price points 2 are under $50 and the other 2 are under $100.

I am loving the red-brown color as you can see that is the color I chose but pretty much all of them look very chic. I believe that this trend is here to stay and is going to be a classic staple for Fall. Be sure to have one in your closet adding another good item to your Fall wardrobe. Or dress them down.

Rather than grabbing a blouse or blazer, go for a dressed down look. Think oversized sweaters, denim shirts, cozy sweater dresses, longer flannel dresses, and more. I am loving the brown coated jeans for Fall, but black skinny coated jeans are at the top of my list as well. Luckily, you can wear black coated jeans with almost everything you can wear brown coated jeans with.

You can never have too many pairs of coated jeans.

Not only are coated jeans comfy and softer than other jeans I’ve tried before, they are also very on trend right now. The best part is, you don’t have to break the bank to pick up a pair (or two!). Shop the outfit above!
