The first one here that I truly love is this grey coat. It was a life saver when we had this Winter like weather and added breeze. It gave me comfort and style at the same time as I was wearing the very classy turtle neck sleeveless top. Knowing me, I always want to pair items with the same color so I chose this perfect pair of booties to go by with it. Those boots I have worn walking around all day and did not hurt my feet. It was surprisingly super comfy and I really love the bow at the back, It brings out the girly girl in me. I will surely have this outfit on repeat!

Fun Fall Activities in Virginia and Maryland 2025

Fun Fall Activities in Virginia and Maryland 2025 (Family-Friendly Ideas You’ll Love)

Fall in Virginia and Maryland is such a beautiful time of year. The air turns crisp, the leaves start to glow in shades of amber and red, and every weekend seems made for cozy sweaters and family adventures. 🍂

Over the years, we’ve created a few family traditions that make the season extra special. From visiting our favorite pumpkin patches to going apple picking, these fun fall activities in Virginia and Maryland are perfect for families — especially if you’re looking for something everyone can enjoy.

Whether you’re new to the area or just need inspiration for your next weekend plan, here are our top fall activities (plus a few new 2025 ideas!) to add to your bucket list this season.

1. Visit a Pumpkin Patch (A Must Every Fall!)

This one never gets old — a pumpkin patch day is always first on our list. It’s the perfect mix of fun, fresh air, and photo ops. Our favorite part is that every year, local farms seem to add something new.

The one we usually visit recently added a kernel corn pit with toy tractors, and my youngest loved it! You can also find mini petting zoos, moon bounces, corn mazes, pumpkin bowling, and hayrides.

And of course, no trip is complete without that classic pumpkin patch family photo — the one that always makes it to our fall photo album (or Instagram grid!).

💡 Pro Tip: Wear something comfortable but stylish — like the outfit I shared in my Walmart Fall Outfits 2025 post: a striped shirt, denim shorts, and rain boots — perfect for a muddy patch day.

2. Go Apple Picking at a Local Orchard

Apple picking will always hold a special place in our hearts. It was one of the very first American traditions we tried when we moved here from the Philippines, and it’s something we’ve continued every year since. 🍎

Our go-to spot is Baugher’s Orchard in Westminster, Maryland. They have some of the best apples we’ve ever tasted, and I love how they take time to educate families about the different varieties before picking.

It’s such a wholesome, slow-paced day — you can walk the fields, sip cider, and even bring home fresh pies and apple butter from their farm store.

💡 Pro Tip: Early October is usually the best time to go before the crowds (and the apples!) start to thin out.

3. Experience Fright Fest at Six Flags

If your family loves a bit of Halloween fun, Fright Fest at Six Flags America is a must. Since we have season passes, we try to go every year — and it never disappoints!

From spooky live shows to haunted decorations throughout the park, it’s the perfect mix of family-friendly thrills and festive Halloween vibes. Even the rides get a spooky glow-up with lights and fog machines.

💡 Pro Tip: Go during the day if you have younger kids — the evening can get a little scarier when the fog rolls in and the actors come out but since they are closing, next year should be Six flags NJ or Kings dominion.

4. Take a Scenic Picnic Trip to Shenandoah Valley

When you think of fall in Virginia, you can’t skip the Shenandoah Valley. The mountain views, the crisp air, and the scenic overlooks make it a dreamy fall destination.

Pack a picnic basket with local treats, take a drive along Skyline Drive, and stop at one of the overlooks to enjoy a peaceful lunch with a view. It’s simple, affordable, and incredibly refreshing — especially after a busy week.

💡 Pro Tip: Go mid-October for the best foliage. Bring a blanket, your favorite hot drink, and a camera — the fall colors are breathtaking.

5. Explore Local Fall Festivals

There’s no shortage of fall festivals in Virginia and Maryland — from small-town fairs to big harvest celebrations. Many include hayrides, artisan booths, live music, and pumpkin painting for kids.

Some local favorites to check out this year:

  • Cox Farms Fall Festival (Centreville, VA)

  • Maryland Renaissance Festival (Crownsville, MD)

  • Virginia Fall Festival (Warrenton, VA)

These are great ways to support local vendors and enjoy everything fall has to offer — especially if you love trying seasonal food like apple cider donuts or caramel corn!

💡 Pro Tip: Arrive early! These events get crowded fast on weekends.

6. Visit a Family-Friendly Winery

If you’re looking for something a little more relaxing for the grown-ups, wine tasting at a local vineyard can be such a treat. Virginia and Maryland both have several family-friendly wineries with picnic areas and open spaces where kids can run around.

A few to check out:

  • Bluemont Vineyard (Bluemont, VA) — gorgeous mountain views

  • Linganore Winecellars (Mount Airy, MD) — live music and family days

  • Old Westminster Winery (Westminster, MD) — beautiful outdoor setting

This is on our to-do list for 2025 — I know my husband and I will love it, especially with all the fall colors surrounding the vineyards.

💡 Pro Tip: Bring a blanket and snacks for the kids. Many wineries allow outside food for picnics.

Bonus: What’s New for Fall 2025

This year, I’m adding something new to our family traditions — styling fall outfits that match each activity.

For example:

  • Pumpkin Patch: striped top, denim shorts, and rain boots

  • Farmers Market: dark wash shirt jacket and ankle boots

  • Brunch Day: cozy sweater and jeans

  • Weekend Errands: half-zip pullover and white sneakers

You can see how I styled all six looks in my latest Walmart Fall Outfits 2025 post and Instagram reel. It’s been such a fun way to celebrate the season while sharing affordable finds that make getting dressed easy and fun.

Final Thoughts

Fall is such a magical time to make memories as a family. Whether it’s your first season here or your fifteenth, there’s always something new to explore.

From pumpkin patches and apple orchards to scenic drives and cozy weekends, Virginia and Maryland in the fall have something for everyone — and I hope this list inspires you to plan your next family outing!

If you visit any of these spots, tag me on Instagram @SimplyChristianne — I’d love to see your fall adventures!

Fall Dress and Over the Knee Boots Combo is another style you can pull in this season and considered a chic Fall casual style. It was a breezy day during this photo shoot and I am really loving it because I can feel the flow and softness of the dress. IT was just a perfect moment but was hard at the same time to maintain my hair in one place.

For this look, the print and color of the dress is something you would want in a Fall dress, it is everything! I was debating if I should be wearing a black Over the knee boots instead of brown but as you can see which one I chose. It complimented the dress more with the brown color and it was perfectly paired with the bag. This is one outfit that is very easy to style and you’ll be done in few minutes but you look fully made up already. It is always such a good feeling when you look like that.

This is something I will wear for some Fall cocktail events or Happy hour. Thank you for stopping by and have a nice weekend.

As a fashion/style blogger. We want to portray what we really are passionate about. I was thinking of a Halloween costume that will not take up to much time to work on and something that I already own. Being me, I though about Audrey Hepburn look from her movie Breakfast at Tiffany’s

I just adore how classy the look is and also my love for a little black dress. As you can see I did not have all the required accessories to complete the look here as I was missing a mini tiara, pearl necklace and and the long cigarette holder which you can buy in a bundle here.

This can also be a DIY costume as most of the time you may have these items handy with you at home right. I just forgot to pack them when I was preparing this look for my photo shoot.

What do you think? Were I able to give justice to it? I just love how it turned out and how easy it was to pull in this one.

Thank you for stopping by.

Fall Style in my Plaid Coat as one of the Fall trend I am loving, Already featured a Plaid blazer few weeks ago and this one for cooler temps. What I love about this coat it that length, it gives enough coverage and also will still be able to show what you are wearing inside. It looked like an over sized coat for me so I recommend you size down. But me personally, I kinda liked that effect on me. I was actually thinking on adding some pops of red but totally forgot to bring in the hat.

This coat is a great cover up both to dress up or down. Another style is wearing mid calf or OTK boots with it. Great plaid print like this adds up some powerful vibe on an outfit. I always wanna try something different and just mixing it with my old outfits that are classic. You don’t always have to buy new things from head to toe. Always invest on something that you can wear over and over like the black dress I am wearing here. You can’t go wrong with the little black dress. This plaid trend is the one that I am really embracing this season.

Have you invested on some plaid styles this season? I am interchangeably doing plaid and animal prints.

Thank you for stopping by and see you again on Wednesday! Stay tuned for my DIY Halloween costume….

Wearing Pink Sweater Dress for Breast Cancer Awareness Month as I want to show my support because I have friends who were cancer survivors. And also know some co workers who lost their loved ones because of it. To me any type of cancers are just the same. They all need attention and more research to be able to find cure so we don’t see people suffering from it. I personally experienced worrying so much about this because I had an abnormal discharge on my left breast. Got the mammogram and ultrasound and came back negative. After a year, I was experiencing some feeling of discomfort on the Right breast and got it checked by the doctor and no lump was found.

I was so happy about it and I never stop doing my monthly breast self examination. I know it is very important for prevention. Big C or cancer is so bad that I lost both my grandmother from it, my paternal grandmother was from liver cancer and maternal grandmother was from leukemia, she even died on my 14th birthday.

So today, I am proud wearing this pink sweater dress. It is just so perfect for fall and I know by wearing it that I stand for something. I also loved pairing pink and grey, they are just the perfect combination.

Business as Usual in Tuxedo Dress to welcome this new week with new set of goals and new adventures in everything that we do. On Mondays, we shouldn’t be dragging right? So I chose to wear this for some inspiration for us to feel strong and ready to take on the week like a true #girlboss. I do believe you feel the greatest when you look good because it makes you feel good. I also felt powerful wearing this Tuxedo dress, this is actually sleeveless and just added a long sleeves shirt inside.

We should all get excited for Monday even though our weekend was short but sweet. We are lucky to enjoy the weekend because we had a fruitful weekday right? Ooops, sorry for preaching. I really meant on talking about the the whole outfit here. So let’s get back to this look…. I really loved this for its perfect length and style for Fall Business look. Do you agree? Very easy like I can almost say I am the female Steve Jobs who did not think too much for the outfit and just went all black. But knowing me, I had to add some pops of colorful thing and came up with my pink bag.

I hope I was able to give some good outfit inspiration and would appreciate if you share this post. Thank you for stopping by!

Fall Trend: Snakeskin and Leopard Prints

Fall Trend: Snakeskin and Leopard PrintsSHOP THE LOOK:

LEOPARD PRINTS: 1 SHOES 2 DRESS 3 BAG 4 JACKET

SNAKE SKIN PRINTS: 1 DRESS 2 SHOES 3 JACKET 4 BAG

These prints are neck to neck on the fashion scene. I have seen different styles of it from head to toe and I am so loving them. I really would love to try wearing a snake skin skirt just like the one @walkinwonderland was wearing. It is such a classy print and style and for the leopard print. I love the set that @songofstyle was wearing in Paris Fashion week.

Below I am showing those prints I wore from last year.

In here I was wearing those snakeskin boots from Boohoo that I still have and still wearing.

And in here the leopard print coat from Target.

Who wouldn’t want to have these prints right? They are classic Fall staple and will never get tired of wearing them. I have seen a lot of different style out of this print and you just have to wear your confidence with it. I guess we should all need to own every piece of this print and we can always recycle them as they always make a comeback.

Have you worn this print already? If yes which kind did you wear? I wanna hear you share your outfits too and would love to see how you styled them.

I hope you like this post and may you all have a wonderful weekend and thank you for stopping by!

Mustard Yellow Dress for Fall is one of the staple colors I love wearing. And if you have noticed from the recent New York Fashion week. There were a lot of yellow on the scene with the new styles. When I saw this dress I fell in love right away and I already know what I will be pairing with it. Since this dress was short sleeves, I may have to wear a jacket and thought that this Chicwish faux suede one is a good combo. The wouldn’t be complete without pairing the same shade for the boots.

I am just loving this color combination as it truly represents the fall colors. It always fascinates me how they change colors just like that. I wore this over the weekend when it was in the 70’s and did not need the jacket when out under the sun but when under the shade. It started to feel a little chilly to me and the jacket came handy.

That is the reason why I love wearing jacket in the Fall because you can always put it on when needed and take it off when not. I hope I was able to give some Fall outfit inspiration for you. Thank you for stopping by and see you again this Friday!

Christianne
