Why is it important to have an Easter baskets for kids?

It symbolizes a new life, end of lent. It is a good way to make the kids learn it at an early age. And for us parents, it can put pressure on us to create an impressive basket while not breaking the bank, specially if you have more than one child. I am here to give you ideas and also to save money and creating a memorable experience for kids.

Make Your Own Candy and Treats
It can be costly to get pre-made Easter candies and treats. Here is a tip to curt down the expense on that part by making your own at home. I usually keep the easter basket and just redecorate it so it looks like a brand new one for every year. Kids really doesn’t pay much attention on those details. Another thing to save is to make homemade treats, such as chocolate-covered pretzels or jelly bean bark and by baking cookies or brownies.
Kids will love it when they know and see you put all effort in making those memorable baskets for them because of the  personal touch and creativity that kids will appreciate. I hope this gives you the idea of making budget-friendly Easter treats.

Get Crafty with DIY Decorations

If you are into arts and have the time to do so. Decorating your own Easter basket (can be bought from Thrift store too!) will save you a lot of money because store-bought Easter decorations can be costly too. Here are some easy and inexpensive to make, such as paper bunny garlands or hand-painted eggs. This will be a great bonding experience of creating decorations with your kids as well.  I hope this DIY Easter decorations will spark the creativity in you.

Think Outside the Basket
Think of alternative Easter basket containers. Getting a traditional basket can be expensive at this time of the year as it is in demand.  There are alternative containers that can be used, such as decorated paper bags or repurposed baskets from around the house. You can repurpose items like cardboard boxes or mason jars. This will save you money and  being more eco-friendly, you saving the environment as well.

Add in Non-Traditional Gifts
You migth already be thinking of getting everything related to bunny and eggs to put in Easter baskets. Try adding non traditional items such as toys and candy. You can add books, coloring books, or outdoor toys too. Think about the educational and practical value of these gifts. These non-traditional gifts to spark ideas for your kids.

Personalize with Handmade Touches
Personalized Easter baskets with names or monograms can be an added cost for this year. How about DIY ways to personalize baskets, such as using stencils or iron-on letters. I do have a cricut machine that I use to personalized but there are budget friendly stencils you can use as well. Creating this will add a sentimental value of handmade touches. Other creative ideas for personalization are using photos or handprints of your kids.
