The Silver State

“Travel to a new place you’ve never been before.” That was one of the things my husband and I agreed to do starting this year. Instead of collecting things we want to collect memories. And that’s what we did…

I can’t believe It has been a month already since we visited Las Vegas, Nevada.

Why did we choose the “Sin City?”

I believed that this place has a lot to offer aside from their casinos and night night clubs. I also know this is close to the Grand Canyon and  LA if we want to side trip. So will this place be a good one for a family travel with the kids?

When it comes to travel, I always research about it and asked people who have been there to get some insights.

I have asked some of my family friend who’s been there with their family. They said that Circus Circus will be a nice place to stay with the kids from the name itself.

So I checked www.orbitz.com and found a deal for that hotel+flight and booked it. That was hubby’s post birthday celebration and Spring break for our family.

Since that was the first time we’ll be traveling to the west coast. I took the opportunity to contact some of my friends who lives there to come meet us if they have the time. And she did say yes!  We haven’t seen each for a good 10 years but we’re always in touch.

So all was set and booked. Calendar was marked.

Day 1: We arrived at night so we were not able to do anything except to unpack, ate dinner and checked out what’s in the hotel.

Day 2: We met our friends with their son who also stayed in the hotel with us. We used up all the time in the hotel’s Adventuredome. The kids and us too enjoyed the rides and other games which we won some cute stuff. We were also able to see live circus since that was also a part of their attraction. every 30-45 mins they have different circus or magic acts. It was one good experience for the whole family. As for the dining experience. There were a lot of places to choose from. As for us, we went to all the Filipino restaurants that we did not have in the East coast and ate there. It was a blast!

My friends left that night. They just really wanted to meet with us that day. Since my mom was with us too. My husband and I was able to enjoy the night out. Went out to the Casino and also had some drinks. We got to see the beauty of Vegas strip at night.

Day 3: Another Family adventure that we’ve never done before. Instead of going to the Grand Canyon, We just went to Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area since we did not have much time. Plus it will be too tiring for the kids. This place was 30 mins away from the strip. They have a scenic drive and many different hiking trail. The view was amazing!!! We don’t have that in the East Coast.

In the afternoon, we went to The Shark Reef at the Mandalay Bay Hotel.

I recommend that if you will be traveling with kids, go rent a car. There is always parking there. You can book your rent a car online. Try www.rentalcars.com/las-Vegas-airport. The companies listed there will only have you take 1 shuttle ride. Less of a hassle. Because what happened to us was… We did get fox rental online. I didn’t know that from the airport we had to get 2 shuttle transfers to get there. The company was good but that was the down side. It was too much for us since we traveled with 2 strollers and 3 lugages.

Another fun filled memorable trip for us. I hope I inspired you all.
